Higher the temperature, faster it starts to spin. Stove top fan should placed on the top or side of the stove, or on a single wall.
NOTE: If the max temperature on your stove top is even below 100°C / 212°F, DO NOT buy, the fan will can't works efficiently.
What to do if the noise
If there is noise caused by the rotating fan, please check the fan blade, normally because the blade is a little bent, rotate the blade with your finger, find the bent part, fix it to the correct position by hand, no tools needed. Sometimes it can happen after shipment. As the sheet is made of aluminum, it is not ironed or other hard materials, so it is also very easy to fix.
